Programming Microsoft Access 2000 About the Author -- Rick Dobson, Ph.D. Rick Dobson is an experienced author/trainer/developer who specializes in Access, SQL Server, web, and Microsoft Office development techniques. He got the urge to write this book as he was completing "Programming Microsoft Access 2000" for Microsoft Press. As he was preparing that book, the monumental advance in SQL Server programmability from Access became apparent to him. This book is written for the many Access developers and SQL Server developers who want to take advantage of this advance. In addition to his prior book on Access for Microsoft Press, Rick contributed to several Que books. Beyond that, he is a contributing editor to SQL Server Magazine with a monthly column on Access/SQL Server integration. His consulting practice sponsored two seminar tours of the US on Access and SQL Server development. He has lectured on Access, Office, and web development techniques at conferences in Australia, Canada, Great Britain, and throughout the US.
