Access/SQL Server/VB.NET Development Seminar

For Database Developers and Administrators

Welcome to the home page for the "Access/SQL Server/VB.NET Development Seminar".  Our fourth annual seminar tour concluded on December 11, 2002 in Orlando, Florida.  Bookmark this page or sign our Guest Book for news of upcoming seminar tours.

The fourth annual tour marked a milestone in our seminar series because we expanded the scope to include Visual Basic .NET.  The topic was well received by many traditional Access developers, and we attracted Visual Basic developers who wanted to  learn about new developments in their language.

Aside from the extra influx of VB developers, the mix of attendees was similar to previous tours.  Overall, the seminar attracts a mix of in-house developers from medium-sized  and large organizations, developers from firms serving vertical markets, and independent developers serving small businesses and departments in large organizations.  Selected organizations sponsoring attendees to the fourth annual tour include firms  such as Bank of America, US Bank Corporation, Standard and Poor's, Pacific National Laboratories, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Cendant Corporation,  the U.S. Army, and  Rooms To Go.  This year's tour attracted vertical developer firms serving the health care and oil industries.

Sample feedback from attendees this year follows:

bullet I picked up a great deal of new ideas that I will be able to use immediately.  This session was valuable in that I learned the new features of Access/SQL Server and was able to realize the value of VB.NET in the direction that Microsoft is going.

bullet I wanted to take this time to thank you and let you know I thought your presentation of Access was knowledgeable and concise. Too often I've attended training classes and come away disappointed. I'm happy to say, after the class, I'm eager to try some new things (code),  and I have the materials to practice and refer to.

bullet I really got a lot out of the seminar. You hit what was important to me. Ideas that can be built on.

bullet Thanks for the update.  I did indeed enjoy the seminar and found it very productive.
