Hi FullName,

This message is your first September message from ProgrammingMSAccess.com.  The overall purpose of the message is to remind you about several significant reasons for visiting ProgrammingMSAccess.com.  We start by highlighting our extensive collection of code samples for VBA and VB.NET developers.  Next, we remind you about several prizes available from the site for those who either sign our Guest Book or join our Database Developers Group.  The third element of this message is a notice about new filters for SPAM Blocker, the ProgrammingMSAccess.com solution for filtering spam and junk email.  We close the message by letting you know that we are starting a new section at the site that lists prior newsletter messages.  This new section will allow you to browse previous messages sent from the site or even the most recent one if you misplaced it or accidentally deleted it.

VBA AND VB.NET CODE SAMPLES

From its beginning ProgrammingMSAccess.com has been about providing free code samples.  We started out with VBA code samples for Access 2000.  Over time, we added samples about additional topics as well.  You can now find code samples for VB.NET/ADO.NET along with VBA and T-SQL scripts for SQL Server.  There are even a few VBA scripts for web development.  If you are into VB programming, this could prove to be a real treasure trove.

If you have visited ProgrammingMSAccess.com in the past, chances are you viewed one or more of our code samples.  These samples are typically the most popular reason for visiting the site.  Here’s a URL for our list of code samples:

PRIZES FROM PROGRAMMINGMSACCESS.COM

ProgrammingMSAccess.com is about delivering quality content and great opportunities to site visitors.  The opportunities that we historically made available include prizes.  Just for signing our Guest Book once during July, August, or September, you become eligible for winning one of three prizes.  You can learn more about the prizes or sign our Guest Book with either of the following two links:

At ProgrammingMSAccess.com, we have a slogan: Membership has its privileges.  The membership to which we refer is membership in our Database Developers Group (DDG).  The members of this group receive privileges, including seminar discounts, access to a private collection of white papers and code samples, and the chance to win special prizes.  During July-September quarter, we are offering two prizes for any DDG member.  You can learn more about the DDG, including how to join it, and the special prizes for the quarter at the following URLs:

SPAM BLOCKER UPDATE

We just posted a fresh set of filters for SPAM Blocker, our solution to filtering spam.  SPAM Blocker from ProgrammingMSAccess.com is a VBA program that runs in back of Outlook 2000/2002/2003.  The most recent round of filters is the thirteenth issued for SPAM Blocker 2.0 since its initial release in March 2004.

You might ask why so many releases of fresh filter sets?  Can’t we get it right?  The simple answer is no!  This is because spammers are constantly innovating with new message content, email addresses, and IP addresses.  We do not believe that there is a single, silver-bullet solution that will kill spam dead forever.  If you disagree with us, tell me which spam blocking software has 100 percent market share because their solution is perfect.

Our strategy for responding to this situation of evolving spam content is to issue regular updates to SPAM Blocker.  We issue updates about twice per month.  Any purchaser of our Standard edition gets our best set of filters at the time of purchase.  Anyone who purchases an Upgraded edition of SPAM Blocker can download fresh filters over the life of their license for one, two, or three years.  At the end of the license, an Upgraded edition owner can renew their license or use SPAM Blocker like any Standard edition purchaser.

We not only sell SPAM Blocker, but we use it.  Therefore, if you get spam with SPAM Blocker, we get spam with SPAM Blocker.  It is because we hate spam that we are constantly refreshing our filters.  Purchase your copy and tell your friends so that they can benefit from the best solution that we know of for filtering spam and junk email.  The URLs for learning more about SPAM Blocker and purchasing it appears below:
