Hi FullName,
This message is your last October message from ProgrammingMSAccess.com. It’s a Halloween-day message, and I hope that it leaves a sweet taste after you finish reading it. First, we start with a reminder about my recently published DVD. Second, there is a reminder about the 15% off coupon for my DVDs as well as those from other authors published by by DV Press. The qualifying October registrants have their coupons in the mail to them now, but there’s still time to get coupon in November or December. Third, you can win a copy of Office XP Developer Edition if you act fast. This message contains the details. Fourth, we just posted an updated filter set for SPAM Blocker.
Beginner's SQL Server 2000 T-SQL Programming on DVD
As I mentioned in your last message from the site, DV Press recently published my third DVD. This one is on T-SQL programming. You can purchase the DVD from either Amazon.com or the publisher’s web site. The Amazon.com listing may be misleading to some because it states Stephen Fulcher is the director. Stephen is a great, technical whiz, but he is neither the director nor actor for this DVD. I am both the author of its content and its presenter (or actor).
The DVD is actually a two-disc set (Amazon.com lists it as a three-disc set) with more than 8 hours of training. Both DV Press and I teamed up to do my best DVD ever. I am learning how to relax in front of a camera as I develop special presentation skills uniquely suited for presenting content in DVD format. DV Press shot this DVD in their new production facility which permits better audio than on some of the earlier DVDs. If you want to learn T-SQL programming (and who wouldn’t want to add a grasp of such a useful tool to their set of skills), this may be the best opportunity to do it in an easy, fun way. There are seven lessons. Here’s a list of the lesson titles:
· Getting Started with T-SQL Tools
· Data Access
· Data Manipulation
· Databases and Tables
· Views and Functions
· Stored Procedures and Triggers
· Security

DVD Coupons from DV Press
If you were one of the first 30 persons to sign our Guest Book during October, a coupon from us is in the mail to you. You can use this coupon to get a 15% discount from the DV Press web site when purchasing any of my three DVD sets or those by other authors published by DV Press.
If you were not one of the first 30 to sign our Guest Book, you can try again in either November or December because we are re-running the same promotion in each of these months. BTW, my other two DVD titles are “Visually Learn Visual Basic .NET in 12 Hours” and “Programming Visual Basic .NET and ADO.NET with SQL Server and Access”. I hope you find at least one of my DVDs suitable for your learning needs. If you are interested in any of them, this coupon is a great way to save on your learning aids.

Be the First to Join the DDG in November and Win…
If you like the content at the ProgrammingMSAccess.com site or you like the idea of leveraging the traffic at the site for your own benefit, consider joining our Database Developers Group. In the past month, we issued a referral to DDG members about upgrading two major Access applications to a SQL Server solution using Access projects (.adp files). This referral became available through the Technical Support link at the site. We regularly pass along referrals from the site that potential clients submit for technical support or consulting needs.
The first new member to join or existing member to renew
during November, which is just hours away as I write this, wins a copy of the
Office XP Developer edition. While there
is a modest fee for joining the DDG, there are many benefits for joining. The cash value of the prize to the first new
or renewing member in November is many times the cost of membership. This is one of the many ways that we confirm
our slogan which is “membership has its privileges.”
Because the Office XP Developer Edition comes in a large
box, we’ll have to charge actual shipping and handling charges when mailing it
outside the continental

SPAM BLOCKER UPDATE
We just posted a fresh set of filters for SPAM Blocker, our solution to filtering spam. SPAM Blocker from ProgrammingMSAccess.com is a VBA program that runs in back of Outlook 2000/2002/2003. The most recent round of filters is the sixteenth issued for SPAM Blocker 2.0 since its initial release in March 2004.
At ProgrammingMSAccess.com, we often do our business over the Internet. One component of that business is receiving email from our business associates. SPAM Blocker saves us from reading thousands of spam messages each week. It never works 100%, but it spares us from hours of filtering email manually. Because we filter so much spam, we can much more easily spot the email that our business associates send us.
The trick to our filtering program is to keep your filters fresh. That’s why we issue filters at least twice per month for anyone who purchases our Upgraded Edition. If you prefer to try the program out for less money or you do not mind updating the filters yourself, get our Standard Edition. You get our best set of filters at the time you buy, and your instructional manual will explain how to update the filters yourself.
