Dear FullName,
This message is the June message to registered visitors and friends of ProgrammingMSAccess.com. This month’s message features two heads up about new content at the site. You’ll also find a message about a software prize opportunity. We close with a brief reminder about a deadline to save money on registering for one of our three webcast seminar presentations in July and August. Each webcast presentation offers a total of up to 21 hours of training.
From last year, our site has been promising to add more content for .NET topics. We have been fulfilling this promise with code samples, book excerpts, presentation slide decks, and more. We just added a new code sample/tip to our VB.NET code samples. The latest addition is a code segment with some descriptive text that explains how to compile Exception objects during a form load event instead of the first time an application throws an exception. See the tip’s description to discover why this simple technique can speed the operation of your application and remove curious delays for your users.
As a registered user, you are entitled to special benefits,
including these monthly messages and the chance to win prizes when you sign our
Guest Book once during a quarter.
However, we have another group of favorites. This is our Database
Developers Group (DDG). The group
focuses using Access and SQL Server database with
One key benefit for many DDG members is a private library of code samples and white papers available exclusively to DDG members. The list of these code samples and white papers currently exceeds 30, and we are constantly adding to the collection. If you like the free content at this site, chances are you can derive exceptional value from the DDG private collection of white papers and code samples. I use the term white papers loosely to refer to book excerpts, presentation slide decks, previously published articles by the webmaster, and more. Many white papers include code within them. In some cases, complementary files provide complete solutions described by a white paper. For the first time, we are posting a listing of the titles and descriptions for the white papers and code samples. Take a look at what you will gain access to by joining the DDG.
At the ProgrammingMSAccess.com site, our slogan is that membership has its privileges. If you are a regular recipient of our newsletters, you must know that our slogan refers to DDG members. The first new member to join or existing member to renew during June wins a copy of Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System (VSTO). VSTO has valuable tools for Access, SQL Server, VB, and Office developers. VSTO is a new addition to the world of Office development that combines Visual Studio .NET with the programmability of Office. If you are interested in getting a free copy of Visual Basic .NET, the SQL Server Developer Edition, the Access 2003 packaging and deployment tools (including a license to redistribute solutions with the Access 2003 runtime), this is the package that you want.
To win this great prize, just be the first member to join or renew during June. It is that simple. Good luck, but remember the prize is to the swift.
We have been telling you about our three seminar webcasts for several messages now. With each message leading up to the webcasts, I try to include some special content not
featured before or some timely information.
The content for this message is a reminder that the early-bird discount
of $100 for the second webcast presentation expires on the evening of June 9 at
Visit the seminar’s home page for general info on the seminar. We have a special page that details the standard registration fee as well as opportunities to save with discounts and rebates. If you want to learn how to register, then you can visit the registration menu page. If you know exactly which set of webcast sessions you want to attend, then you can go to our order form and initiate your registration with a credit card.
