Hi FullName,
This is your second message during January 2005 about content and opportunities from ProgrammingMSAccess.com. We remind you that despite the name of our site, our content is for those interested in SQL Server, VB.NET, VBA, and Access. We seek to provide the kind of information that makes you more productive as you go about creating database solutions for yourself and others. In addition, our site frequently offers an attractive collection of prizes. You can become eligible for some prizes as easily as signing our Guest Book during a quarter. For other prizes, you have to be a new or an existing member of our Database Developers Group (DDG). You can learn more about the DDG later in this message.
This message highlights on several ways to get value from our site. Did you know that ProgrammingMSAccess.com is an author-sponsored site? The webmaster’s experience as an author is an important factor that contributes to the resources at the site. For example, the site is giving away at the end of the first quarter two DVDs to Guest Book registrants. The DVD is a beginner’s guide to T-SQL, which the webmaster authored. If you like the content of our site and the service that it offers site visitors, we encourage you to join the DDG. DDG members have access to a premium selection of content that goes well beyond what is available at our free, public site. This message highlights several membership benefits, including the DDG library, and gives you a specific link for joining. Finally, we revised our spam filters a couple of times since your last message from us. Our goal is to update our spam filters at least twice per month, but we are attempting to set a new standard of excellence for our SPAM Blocker by issuing updates more often than two times a month.

is an author-sponsored site
ProgrammingMSAccess.com is an author-sponsored site. The site’s webmaster is the author of 6
books, 3 DVDs, countless articles in computer publications, and five annual
seminar presentation schedules. The massive
body of content resulting from the books, DVDs, and seminars is the source of
nearly all the content at the site. There are literally hundreds of pages of
web site content for you to review. The
site offers book excerpts, links for online articles, interactive tutorials and
demonstrations, slide decks from seminars, working samples, and code
samples. Site content reflects the
interests of the webmaster and addresses Access, SQL Server, VBA, T-SQL,
If you like the content at our site, we urge you to take a look at the books and DVDs by the webmaster. Our section on material authored by the webmaster features the table of contents of all books and DVDs, a summary of each chapter or lesson, along with selected excerpts and reader or viewer feedback. I hope you find this material another valuable resource at the site. For those who care to buy one of the webmaster’s books or DVDs, we offer links to Amazon.com. Selected DDG Member Benefits and How to Join the
DDG
A subset of all our website visitors elects to join the Database Developers Group (DDG). The DDG is a professional association of database developers and administrators. We currently have about forty-five members in three countries. There are many benefits of DDG membership. The most advantageous benefits depend on the interests of individual members. However, many members express an appreciation for the content in the DDG library.
The DDG library is an online library that currently has 45 resource files available exclusively to DDG members. Each month we add 1-2 more files for the benefit of DDG members. These download files range from book excerpts to seminar and DVD slide decks as well as articles and even a custom solution or two. Nearly half of these files are code samples that coordinate with another resource file. We make this content available to help our DDG members to grow professionally with Access, SQL Server, VBA, and VB.NET. The list of resource titles was recently updated.
There are several other ways that we strive to enrich our DDG members. During the current quarter, we have an exceedingly rich collection of prizes available for new and existing DDG members. You can win valuable prizes for being the first or second to join in a month. You even become eligible to win prizes just by being a member at the end of the quarter.
Our site passes along consulting referrals to DDG members. These opportunities come along as both large and small consulting opportunities. What makes the opportunities special is that they are all culled from tech support requests to our site. Because the site serves over 1,000,000 pages annually, we have a regular flow of opportunities to pass on to DDG members. We just emailed to DDG members the seventh referral since June 2004. This is nearly one opportunity per month!
If you would like to join, we look forward to serving you. There is a modest membership fee, but we believe the benefits far outweigh the cost. One prize or consulting referral could offset the cost of several years of DDG membership. In addition, all members can benefit from the DDG library whether or not they are selected for a prize or pursue a consulting opportunity. If you are committed about growing as a database professional from either business or technical perspectives, DDG membership is a great choice for you.

We Updated Our
Filters for SPAM Blocker
As many of you know by now, SPAM Blocker from ProgrammingMSAccess.com is our solution for filtering spam. Our solution runs as VBA code behind Microsoft Outlook 2000/2002/2003 (but not with Outlook Express). We believe the best way to filter spam is to check message content. Our experience confirms that frequent updates to SPAM Blocker help to keep it effective. Our most recent SPAM Blocker update checks each message against a database of nearly 2,700 filter values.
If you use our Upgraded Edition, you are invited to download the most recent SPAM Blocker version so that you can enjoy the filtering performance of our most recent filter values. There is no charge for this. Recall that we offer a screen recording to show you how to download the software with the help of the email message confirming your initial order. After you get the most recent version, you can install the new filter values by copying the content of ThisOutlookSession.txt to the ThisOutlookSession module behind Microsoft Outlook.
If you purchased our Standard Edition, we invite you to move up to our Upgraded Edition. Standard Edition owners who reply to this offer can move to a new license for the Upgraded Edition for only $24. This offer is only for those willing to download the software online.
