Hi FullName,

This message brings you good news and a happy new year wish from ProgrammingMSAccess.com.  It is typical at the start of a year to want to improve yourself by making a resolution and then doing something to fulfill the resolution.  If your resolution is to become a better database developer or ramp up the learning curve for the new Express suite components from Microsoft, we ask that you to register for our 21-hour seminar on SQL Server Express, Visual Basic Express, and Visual Web Developer Express.

This is the initial message announcing our 2006 seminar to registered site visitors and other close friends of the site.  With the exception of 2005, the site sponsored a seminar presentation series each year the site was in operation.  The webmaster promoted one seminar tour the year prior to opening the site.  We hope that you register for this seminar because it offers our best technical support on timely topics, and it is the most comprehensive opportunity we have to interact with those who are fans of the site.  Also, we invite you to tell your friends and colleagues about the seminar.  This message provides you and your colleagues the information that you need to determine if the seminar is right for your needs.

What is the seminar about?

Microsoft issued new versions of its highly popular programming languages and high-end database server on November 7, 2005.  The Express editions of SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 explicitly target developers, decision analysts, and hobbyists creating solutions for small organizations (or even themselves).  SQL Server Express is free to download.  Other Express suite components, including Visual Basic Express and Visual Web Developer Express, are free to download for one year from November 7, 2005.  Microsoft sponsors a web site devoted to the full set of Express suite components.

I would like to emphasize that the Express suite components are powerful development tools.  The most significant difference between them and the higher-end editions of SQL Server and Visual Studio is the stripping of enterprise tools from the Express suite editions.  You'll be able to use SQL Server Express along with either Visual Basic Express or Visual Web Developer Express to create database solutions for small organizations, including departments and branch offices in large and mid-sized organizations.

Our seminar empowers you to create database solutions with SQL Server Express, Visual Basic Express, and Visual Web Developer Express.  Selected demonstrations also cover the application of Visual Basic Express and Visual Web Developer Express to other databases, such as Microsoft Access and non-Express editions of SQL Server.  You learn how to craft solutions with T-SQL, Visual Basic 2005 (an upgrade to Visual Basic .NET), and ASP.NET 2.0 (an upgrade to ASP.NET 1.0).  In addition, the seminar demonstrates the use of rapid application development tools that enable you to create solutions without writing a single line of code!

Although the seminar instructs and demonstrates how to create database solutions, its main goal is to make YOU the best solution provider possible with SQL Server Express, Visual Basic Express, and Visual Web Developer Express.  Our class sizes are limited to a maximum of 10 participants so that we can have time to address your individual needs.  Each seminar session explicitly sets aside time for answering any questions you have that may require an extended response or heavy interaction.  Each seminar registrant will be able to view slides and demonstrations in their browser and dial into a toll-free telephone number so that they can ask their own questions and hear the answers to their questions as well as those of other participants.

Who is the seminar for?

The seminar targets multiple audiences.  SQL Server Express, Visual Basic Express, and Visual Web Developer Express are low-end developer tools in the sense that Access is a low-end developer.  Therefore, the seminar can appeal to anyone who uses Access either as a stand-alone package or in combination with Visual Basic (either Visual Basic 6 or Visual Basic .NET).  The seminar should also be of interest to beginning SQL Server administrators and even intermediate SQL Server administrators who help the clients of their databases create custom queries and solutions.  Decision analysts will value the simplicity and power that the Express suite components provide for creating queries and manager-oriented solutions.  Also, prototype solutions created by decision analysts with the Express suite can be easily converted to enterprise solutions as the demand for a solution grows to enterprise proportions.

The seminar targets the same audience that the Express suite components target.  Therefore, anyone creating solutions for small organizations or a decision analyst creating manager-oriented solutions is a candidate for the seminar.  All you have to do is want to learn about the new technologies introduced on November 7, 2005.  Since these technologies are really a refinement of those introduced back in February 2002, you will not be learning about release 1.0 technologies.  Instead, these technologies (and our seminar that teaches you how to use them) are for organizations that value well crafted products with built-in features, such as IntelliSense and Edit-and-Continue capabilities along with graphical development aids that facilitate rapid application development.

Finally, the seminar is for those who need to receive value for their training investment.  Our seminar delivers 21 hours of quality instruction from an experienced seminar presenter and author, a seminar CD, a book, and a chance to win one of three sets of SQL Server 2005/Visual Studio 2005 for only $275!  We even offer a 10% rebate of the registration fee to all current and new members of the Database Developers Group.  Yes, you get all this for only $275, and we even give you an opportunity to earn a 10% rebate (my wife calls me crazy Rickie).  The seminar site includes pages with more details about what seminar participants get as well as how to register.

When is the seminar?

We are currently offering three opportunities for you to attend the seminar during March and April of 2006.  Each opportunity includes 21 hours of training spread over 3 days or six evenings.  There are two daytime presentations of the seminar -- once for Eastern Time and once for Pacific Time.  The evening presentation is for Central Time.  Our seminar site offers a page with detailed information about the seminar dates and times.  Register early to lock in your reservation for your preferred time for getting trained.  Class sizes are limited to 10 per presentation.  If demand exceeds the three seminar presentations currently planned, we will offer additional sessions.

I hope that you found this message interesting, and I hope you enjoy health and prosperity in abundance during 2006.  It is my sincere belief that one sure way to abundance during 2006 is to register now for our seminar.  I promise to deliver my best training at a lower fee than I have ever done before.  Please take a moment to share this message with your friends and colleagues who you believe may benefit from it.  I look forward to interacting with you and them during the seminar presentations in March and April.  As usual, we remind you that if you no longer wish to receive messages from ProgrammingMSAccess.com, just reply with Remove in Subject field.
