  2. Saad Al-Hadawi, a senior programmer analyst at a large HVAC firm, writes: I did browse all the books pertaining to ADO.NET at the bookstore before settling on yours.  I chose your book because no other book has more details on using ADO.NET with Microsoft Access databases.  I want you to know that I am happy that a book like yours actually exists, and that I bought it.

Tuan Dinh, an Australian-based mainframe programmer converting to client/server development, reports that the book "helped a lot in his study."  After finishing the first six chapters, he was able to "develop similar types of projects on his own."   He particularly valued the full code listing and setup instructions for the sample database applications, which he says is not so common on other VB books that he purchased.
  4. Andre Torng visited Amazon.com and left this appraisal of the book: This book is definitely for MS Access developers. All examples use Northwind.mdb. The first part introduces Visual Studio .NET environment using many practical MS Access examples...The second part introduces you to ADO.NET using MS Access with many practical examples like add, change, delete, master/detail...I've read VB.NET books and taken VB.NET courses but didn't have the confidence to convert my applications. With this book, I'm all set to go.

A fan of my earlier books offered these comments about my VB.NET book for Access developers: I rely heavily on your several of your books and just bought "Programming Microsoft Visual Basic .Net for Microsoft Access Databases".  I look forward to reading through it and doing the examples...Thank you so much for the work you continue to do.  I have told my manager that I have found an author that I like and I'm going to stick with him.
